But these new generation players like Jason, Jos, Jonny, Alex have all shown they are not plodders like the ex cricketers. A reason why England is scoring more 300s.

Is this the best SR innings ever for England player scoring over 100 runs?

Think Jason must be up there or Jos. Only those two are capable of innings like this. Ben can score briskly as I saw him score one of the best IPL 100 amongst 10 seasons from a precarious scorecard position. Don't ex cricketer would have scored 100 so quickly.

130? More like 80

Bairstows average as an opener must be very high

I meant at their best the previous ones could take their SR up to 130 over a score of 100 runs. KP has max SR of 144 in one 100 plus innings. The remaining batsmen have lesser SR in their 100 plus knocks. Whereas, with new players Jos has a ton at SR 237.07, SR 167.53, SR 163.51. Jonny at SR 173. There is no comparison between the past and present in terms of SR when they have scored 100 plus runs. The previous batch are plodders in comparison.

Can't see that England have a warm up before the Tests.

2 two day warm-ups - 14/15 d/n and 15/16 day game. Hardly over the jet-lag.

I see suggestions from the Mail and Cricinfo to drop Vince and play Crane instead having four fast bowlers and 2 spinners. :scared
A better idea would be dropping Vince for Livingstone.

:facepalm Two spinners in New Zealand. What genius thought that one up?

Just drop Vince and let England start every innings on 20/1...
