Looking forward to this series, should be very intresting..Pressure on Rashid and Hales to justify the 'white ball specalist' tag they have created for themselves

Wood still seems to be in the squad even having been injured (again).

According to Paul Newman from The Daily Mail , Stokes is virtually certain to play in the opening game and Hales is favourite to miss out. That'd be rather unfortunate given Hales' decision to concentrate exclusively on white ball cricket.

I can't keep up with Wood's various injuries but I think he is fit and was just left out of the latter matches in the tri-series. Although I might be wrong - it's never a surprise to find out he's injured!

We're never likely to know when he's injured because it's kept quiet whenever he is. I assumed he was injured then read he was dropped because he didn't have enough variations in his bowling for IT20.

Stokes in and Hales out.

No Wood and Plunkett injured so Willey and Curran get a game.

Boult gets Bairstow early doors. And slow going thereafter. Going to need plenty of runs on NZ ground.

Low score for Stokes on his return to the side and his country of birth.

Plenty of batting to come, but England need a partnership about now.

Three quick sixes for Buttler. No desire for consolidation with this England side.

Root goes. game is well balanced here. England could still reach 300+ but be squeezed out for 220. I'd guess either of these will happen, rather than England pragmatically settling for a score somewhere between the two.

Looking at the card, it feels like Buttler didn't really get going even though batting for a while. Maybe a sluggish pitch?

285-8. The intermediate score I was suggesting they wouldn't go for.

Looks a tight game with NZ needing 70 off 8.2 with five wickets in hand.

Good effort from Roscoe.

Stokes get CDG in the battle of the allrounders. Big wicket in the game.

Looks like Santner and Southee are going to do it. 10 needed off seven balls.
