I can't keep up with Wood's various injuries but I think he is fit and was just left out of the latter matches in the tri-series. Although I might be wrong - it's never a surprise to find out he's injured!

We're never likely to know when he's injured because it's kept quiet whenever he is. I assumed he was injured then read he was dropped because he didn't have enough variations in his bowling for IT20.

According to the BBC Radio commentators Wood is injured - niggling ankle injury apparently and not thought to be serious...so that'll probably mean a 6 month layoff!

This is on again at 1am. Not going to be awake this time.

Can't see a preview on cricinfo.

Wood apparently ruled himself out of the first ODI with pain in his left ankle. And he's confirmed he wants to keep playing first class cricket.

If his ankle allows.

Did he?

Was only defending 9 and bowled a perfect Yorker that got Chinese cut for four basically ending the game

Three run outs and a very moderate NZ score, so ENgland striking back.

Probably missing Plunkett in the first game. He's such a key bowler now.

Woakes de-chokes with 2-42. Good work by the spinners and Gentle Ben.

Good start from Jonny B.

Fifty for Stokes after a good bowl. This is a stroll.

England win by 11.1 overs. Well done to the bowlers this time I think.

Comfortable for England. Morgan , Stokes excellent with the bat ...bowlers must have done a good job though I didn't get to see the NZ innings.

The chap in the crowd who caught himself 50 grand looked pretty happy. As you would...

Stokes is back, by the looks of the scorecard. 2 wickets, 2 run outs and a 60no

That was mainly intended to be a joke. But he did also get hit for six off the next ball...

The death bowling in general wasn't good enough in that game from all concerned. With five overs to go, 45 odd to get and the Kiwis 7 down, England were favourites and should have been able to close it out.

Fortunately yesterday was much better all round.
