This likely defeat should probably be a massive wake up call for england, lately all the talk in the press and ECB has been the vast difference in Away and home form for england and all the other teams in the world, with Strauss rightly saying being good away from home is the difference being number 1 and number 5 in the world.
but the problem is england actually got the worst home record since 2014 as well.
don't get me wrong they still win series and win most home games but compared to other teams it is pretty poor.
believe in the last 20 test in england, they lost 9 games and drew 1.
England have also lost a test to sri lanka, West indies, India, Australia, pakistan and South africa, compare that to other teams where they basically whitewash teams and barely lose a test and teams like SA, Aus and india would never lose a test to the likes of Sri lanka, West indies and pakistan.

That is a huge plus for them, if he bats

Bad news for Babar and Pakistan - he has a fractured wrist and his tour is over.

Babar will feel aggrieved.... getting injured after a blow from Stokes.......... and he doesn't even go to nightclubs

No way back from here. Theoretically it's possible, but the recent history of this England side is that they don't get it back when they're chasing the game. And 166 runs is a huge lead by any standards.

The worst thing is that despite being at home, England are woefully underprepared for their own conditions. Stokes and Buttler have played no red ball cricket for months, and have been in India, and even the rest of the squad have only had a couple of county games. Pakistan have had three FC games and a test match, and it shows. They're approaching batting and bowling in English conditions better than the home side.

Surely Bayliss can't keep the test job in England lose this series?

Pakistan 9 down and all out now. Wood gets a bonus wicket at the end to make his figures look respectable.

Can England force Pakistan to bat again?

Surprised there are not more people about for this. Week end activities taking priority over cricket.

England just need to grind. You never know with Pakistan, 100 run lead might just create problems for them. England only need to take 18 wickets in this test as well. So anything is still possible, even as unlikely as that seems now.

Saturday of the Lord's Test not a sell out?

Cook goes cheaply. That's a deep cut. Just woken up. Presume there's been rain. Not much seems to have happened this morning.

England are batting very slowly. That's a change in mentality.

Stoneman goes for nine. That makes it a nice pre lunch session for the visitors. Sounds a bad dismissal for the ex Durham opener and the second time he's been bowled in the game.

Still, if England pay off the deficit (thanks Gideon) with the loss of no more than another wicket, the game is back in their zone...

Malan goes giving Amir his second wicket in the match. Pakistan whittling away at the England batting. Root+Bairstow+Stokes is England's last chance.

While I just answered the door to Jehovah's Witnesses Bairstow goes. Not having a good run.

Still 78 behind. England approaching needing a Headingley '81 sized miracle.
