27/4. Is the plan to test out the lower order in a run chase?!

Great series with the ball, taking wickets, which is usually a weakness but being as economical as ever.

Not looking like a number seven bat though.

Greater rewards in this game for the rather raw looking Billy Stanlake.

Still fancy England to win this.

England losing wickets at the same rate as the football team is scoring goals.

Absence of Warner and Smith is very much evident in batting unit. So is the absence of Josh, Starc , Cummins in bowling attack.

They were all there in the ODI series in Australia recently and we won 4-1.

In that case it indicates Australian team is having a bad time.

Just checked Australia are ranked 6th in ODI format.

55/5 in response to 205.

Whitewash might be avoided.

Recovery going on though. Plenty of batting left.

If England's long batting order is going to count for anything, maybe it's on days like today. Otherwise, what's the point?

Terrible series for Mo with the bat. Great series with the ball.

Are there any frontline bowlers out there who can't bat who would get in the side in any case?

Not sure this 8 to 11 is the strongest England could field, but yes this is one of those occasions when batting strength in depth comes in handy. They might not make it, but it doesn't mean it's the wrong approach.

I get confused with all these Currans. I'm sure it was Tom who was in the side last year, who made some runs and picked up wickets. He looked really promising.

Now it's Sam Curran who doesn't look so effective, how has he come to the fore suddenly, and what's happened to Tom?

I think Sam is the better batsman and he is a left arm bowler so I think he was picked for those reasons.
