They are out shortly afterwards to Maharaj who gets a third in Mendis.

Matthews out to Maharaj for 10.

Eight for Maharaj. Looks like SA misjudged the pitch.

second wicket falls that's not to a spinner after Rabada bowled Roshen Silva on day one, and it's a run out, of Kusal Mendis.

Either South Africa are completely clueless against spin, or it's been two tests in a row of rank turners where the toss has determined the outcome.

I want to believe it's the former, but I can't help but suspect the latter, especially after the SA in India series not so long ago.

Of course, it goes both ways with South Africa preparing green seamers for visiting Asian sides. Has it always been this bad, or has it got worse lately?

SL made 338 on same wicket. SA followed with just 124. SL batted again and are 151/3. One team knows how to play spin whereas other team does not.

Yesterday, the ball was turning and wicket had bounce. It was nowhere near those 5th day wickets where turn is accompanied by inconsistent bounce. SA batsmen failed to get middle of bat. Either they were getting edges or missing the ball completely getting out LBW. Amla was their best and most experienced batsman, especially against spin in these conditions, but he is on decline in test format. He was dropped in covers in short stay in first innings.

SA were totally clueless against spin or straighter ones with normal bounce. This was expected.

Last test Lakmal bowled his first over in 32nd over of innings. Yesterday none of SL Pacers bowled even a single ball. Shows how sure SL are about their spinners on spin friendly wickets against the SA batters. Nothing shocking in it.

And a shocking series for SA. Huge defeat.

Might be that their batting stats will rival England's v Pakistan in UAE under Strauss.

Not good for Superhuman Steyn's Asian stats.
