Well played Chris Woakes. A few wobbles in the 90's but generally a really good innings.

Well deserved 100 for Chris Woakes who has always been a very good lower order batsman. Has looked unflappable.

Spot on. One of the passengers in test team. Ridiculous that he is still making playing 11.

Bairstow flashes outside off once too often but an important innings of 93.

One would have thought we would do better than we did in South Africa. It's getting worse.

Great to see Woakes of England make his debut Test ton. Pleasing to see a good sporting player doing well.

In a batting head to head is it too simplistic to say Woakes is ahead of JB2?

Na he's still got work to do to cement a place at 7....at the moment he isn't consisent enough for 7 yet he's too good for 8....in time, he can become a good test no7....but yeah Buttler not good enough to play as batsman alone...IMO he needs gloves or not play..

Indian batting line up looks terrible. I doubt if back then heavily to score 200 if the ball moves

Nice idea but I can't see them getting anywhere near 300. Get 200 from here - and get them quickly - and they could have this virtually over tonight ! Still plenty there for the pace men.

:D

Ha ! You had more faith in England's batting than I did , Sussex :)

I'd agree India will struggle to make England bat again if the ball keeps moving about ...guess it comes down to how much time they have to bowl at them between rainstorms...Would have been nice to have a few overs at them tonight , but the light put paid to that idea...
