Ajinkya and Chet at crease. Two purists test players at one point of time, but both struggling to score runs even at domestic and international levels.

Adi won't be liking what Holding and Atherton are saying about the batting condition in SA and England then.

Pujara and Rahane digging in with a lot of determination after the resumption . Batting not looking quite so hard as before ...Anderson out of the attack - for now.

Runs at a premium : 35 in the 19th but it's all about survival. And hoping for more rain :)

...and lo ! Edged and gone...good catch Jennings :clap

I haven't switched on the TV today and just following it on cricinfo so i don't know whats happening in com box. I don't want to see T20 batting in test match unless situation demands. Actually i like T20 too but i watched the T20 match between Trinidada and St. Kitts today morning. It was nice to watch Chris Woakes and Jonny batting yesterday though because they were batting well and Indian bowlers have been giving great efforts unlike the batsmen.

So Indian batting is something i will skip throughout the series until they show that they mean business and it is worth using time to watch them bat. Else that time is well used for other activities.

Is that a comment about the cricket, or United's chances this year

Could be either couldn't it.

Suddenly it looked a bit comfortable for India then Rahane plays a *modded* shot and we've got Virat who looks visibly in pain in.

I don't what I expected. Last 3 tours here have all been the same.

43/ 3. :no

Innings loss almost certain. The type of dream wins every team wants.

Since that wicket of Rahane the ball seems to have started moving more again...some ripping deliveries passing the edge...and Broad just got one to leap at Pujara quite nastily. Batsmen are doing well to hang in there...

Once one of these two goes , England might fancy rattling through the others. So a lot on this partnership.

That's a beauty from Broad :clap

Pujara's vigil over. Kohli will be looking for support from someone ,but who ? Time for Hardik to play an unfamiliar role...

50/4 :facepalm

Second innings is usually expected to be more worse than first, but with 107 in first i had a feeling we would post at least more than first innings total. Seems tough now.

He has played three good knocks in 8 tests. One against Lanka in Lanka, 93 against SA and 71 against Afghanistan in India. Probability isn't high of hims playing a good innings.

A much weaker England side this time. India were favourites, and the number one side looking to confirm their pre-eminence beyond their own country.

Still have a chance. The weather could close this game down. Provided King Kohli isn't injured.

England weaker except Jimmy the Saint. At home, he is bowling as well as he was at the turn of the teens. Pitches have been prepared for him, but he must be about one of the best home town bowlers there's been, on present form.

At least a little resistance from Pujara, and he didn't run himself out.

England was expected to be easier of the two series (SA and Eng). The SA tour showed all the old problems that we have had and they were more severe this year. Bhuvi injury was the biggest blow. Lords was expected to be our best chance to win, but as soon as weather changed, the hopes were lost as our batting would not click. We need better batting conditions, or England to falter in good batting conditions.
