Should have been a good bowling day. Very humid today in Nottingham.
I always say that everybody's right.

it was swinging more and seaming more than the 2015 Ashes test and similar to the one at lords as well.

difference been the bowlers are tired, not having the right seam position or even bowling full for it.

TBH it is days like this where the myth of the weather gets created.

Ball did plenty to be fair, especially in the first session. I was expecting the worst when Eng won the toss again but Dhawan actually batted pretty well, which was a surprise

England have pulled their length back as the day's gone on. In the morning session 26% of their bowling was full; this afternoon, that's dropped to 19%

Although after lunch Swing gone down to 1.4 and seam to 0.7 although that is probably down to england bowling than the conditions.

England are finding 2° of swing, the most they've found in the first 10 overs of a Test innings in two years.

Broad is now finding more swing *and* more seam movement than he did during that spell. Tough conditions for batting.

insane how badly people still believe the myths of the weather.
literally england head dropped when the sun came out in the middle session.

Surprised people don't talk about the skill of the bowlers and the ball then the actual weather affecting the movement lol.

only reason why bowling is better when it is overcast is because of moisture, but that is only relevant if it rains and it is a raining day, cough lords.
but if it is a typical england cloudy day then it really doesn't do more than it would if it is sunny and clear blue skies.
it will literally swing or seam the same amount.

insane when you see former players say bowl first because of the clouds, they literally forget all the times where putting sides in goes pear shaped in similar situation as just remember the days it does do loads for the bowlers.

In the last 10 overs, Chris Woakes has found more than double the amount of swing of Stuart Broad.

if it wasn't for this year batch of dukes ball swinging a lot then Trent bridge will be crapping themselves of getting a poor review.

suspect trent bridge will tell the media and players not to complain about the pitch if the game ends in a draw then.
although doubt it will become a draw because of the swing in offer.

Finally it looks like we will cross 300 this innings at least. Good to see that atleast we have one more batsman who has scored a 50 apart from Virat. Still need at least three batsmen out of top 6 to be contributing good scores in test matches rather than 2. However, even two is a massive improvement and is a welcome change. Hope Rishabh will be the third one to contribute well. Need to score as many as possible considering we don't know what contributions will be given in our second batting innings.

The top order has failed again. Hope there are some changes for last two matches.

Broad gets a wicket from nowhere, Rahane goes from 81.
What a catch from Cook.

india still in the driving seat though.
Debutant pant come in at probably the right time from him since he can play his natural game and isn't really under pressure to score runs and facing an old ball with england looking tired and lost although they may come in hard now with the wicket.

Annoying wicket though Rahane deserved a century and probably needed one with all the stuff he been going through lately.
