Looks like they might (bat all day).

Anderson might have struck and was unlucky, with JB2 dropping a catch off Pujara.

Love those old time scoring rates from the Indian bats.

Rashid should have a long bowl. Let's see what he can do.

Pujara half way to talk-nah status.

And yet another fifty for King Kohli, slaying to the monster that said he couldn't bat in UK.

Should be interesting to see how England get on for 5-6 sessions batting on a fairly flat surface.

Unless they decide in the dressing room that their best chance is to chase the 700 they need to win.

Lunch. At least there's a new ball for England in the next session.

83 run partnership. Well done to these two.

unless the forecast is for lots of rain i would aim to wear out this england bowling line up. Old bowlers playing lots of tests close together. Keep them in the field for a long time.

That's what I think they'll do. Barring a deluge they're winning this match however they go ; so it makes sense to try and wear out the men who pose the main threat to them in the following games. To say nothing of inflicting a bit more psychological damage on Root and his troops.

Bit of a break to the next match , though , isn't it ? So might not be as effective a tactic as in these back-to-back matches.

Anyway I doubt we are going to see anything remotely exciting today...these two are (Reasonably enough) just going to grind on as long as they can ,in no particular hurry.
Good excuse for an early night :thumb

Unfortunately for Rashid , we probably will. With India in no hurry , I suspect he won't have a lot of success.

What ! A wicket

Stokes induces an edge to slip and Pujara will be lamenting a lost hundred...

seemingly.... England went nearly 80 years without losing 10 wickets in a session (and for some of that time, England fielded some dreadful teams). Now they achieve this feat 3 times in 2 years

No wonder the highlights camera's kept moving across to Ramprakash sitting on the balcony...... this is on your watch, Ramps.

when he was first appointed, I joked that he would work really hard to pull everyone's average down to his level of 36

can only dream of england players scoring 36 these days
