Sherman Lewis, the right-arm fast bowler from Windward Islands, has been called up to West Indies' Test squad for their tour of India in October. Lewis replaces Alzarri Joseph, who has been ruled out as he continues to recover from a stress fracture of the back suffered late last year.

Pandya and Ishant are already injured so India decide to rest Bhuvi and Bumrah as well. Does call into question the way India are approaching this series...

Dhawan has been dropped as well, he normally comes into his own for home tests ... looks like Prithvi Shaw will open

WI must be starting to think they are in with a shout

Looks like there's been a revolution in selection for the India side. A lot of the side who got to number one has gone!

I feel like anyone could help India win in India such is the depth of players who can play in those conditions

There are very few with the qualities to play abroad and that's why the decision to drop Dhawan is pleasing

I can't find it anywhere....

"Prithvi Shaw will make his Test debut in Rajkot on Thursday. Breaking from the tradition of not talking about selection before the Test, India named a XII for the opening Test against West Indies a day in advance. They were back to playing with five batsmen and a wicketkeeper after the aberration in the fifth Test of the last series when they called up Hanuma Vihari to bolster the batting."

Shame it can't be seen given a couple of potential debuts.

Should be too good for the WI, but the Indian bats (save King Kohli) struggled desperately in UK, so maybe the West Indian quicks can keep the pressure on.

Very different conditions of course.

Presume Kuldeep will be left out of that 12.
