Game over now with Jadeja gone, Shami and bumrah have to survive 12-13 overs now for the draw which is a lot really.

Unreal.

Middle stump out the ground, what better way to become the leading quick bowler in test history, and to win the match at the same time.

A test match full of fitting moments.

Quite evenly matched again, two similar first innings, and two centurions each in second.

4-1 is heavily flattering on England.

Series seemingly played in a good spirit.

Surprised they never have Saif Ali khan for the presentation for this series.
didn't even realise he was patudi son lol or that he was from a royal family.

Feel odd to have lost a series 4-1 and being pleased to read so many people on Twitter and other forums praising the way india have played in this series.

if you using the stats Average Quotients then india have been improving overseas in SENA nations.
Courtesy of Analytic jones

SA 2017/18: 0.90
Aus 2014/15: 0.73
Eng 2014: 0.58
SA 2013/14: 0.68
Aus 2011/12: 0.45
Eng 2011: 0.43

higher the number the better the performance it is.

the number for this series is 0.82 would be higher if you exclude the outlier at lords.
the lords games england had the best of the conditions.

Without lords it is 1.01.

Which is insane high for a team that loss 4-1 really.

The SA results were certainly helped by pitches that really did not give home advantage.

Much to the surprise of the home board.

True but they are higher than the 2011 and 2014 fiqures.
and if you exclude lords, india were statically a better team than england in 4 of the test matches which is insane really.
india quotient was 1.01 and england 0.99
so nothing separating the sides in the series.

Think it is fair to exclude lords considering the conditions were not fair to both sides and it affects the figures hugely considering india scored *modded* all and india were not able to take wickets and england were able to declare which affected the stats.

Certainly 4-1 does not feel like a fair result.

India didn't lay down and die, though, with a 100 partnership for the 4th wicket and a double hundred for the 6th

Santiago got his wicket, Broad has to wait, Rashid wondering what time the X20 stops outside the Oval

not sure 4-1 is a fair reflection of the series, but well done to England for somehow managing it

After having lost against Saffers by 1-2, this has got worse as loss margin is 1-4 in this series. Well done to England for the win.Not at all surprised that we did not win any of those two series. However, i thought the scoreline would be better in England than it was in SA considering England have some below par averaging batsmen in their batting lineup.

Test 1 - England won by 31 runs
Test 2 - England won by an innings and 159 runs
Test 3 - India won by 230 runs
Test 4- England won by 60 runs
Test 5 - England won by 118 runs

Woulda, coulda, shoulda don't win test matches. There has been lot of these woulda, coulda, shoulda by Virat and Shastri. Surely they [Virat & Ravi] have the skill of portraying the horrible 1-4 thrashing into a blockbuster Bollywood movie. Actually Virat gave a PC recently suggesting the series scoreline does not describes the real picture. I know no captain is going to say that we played bad brand of cricket etc etc atleast in front of media so that team does not gets demoralized. But still whom are these guys fooling? The scoreline doesn't matters? In international level what matters is performance on field, especially when representing a country whose number one sport is cricket and probably has the best domestic setup as well as best infrastructure as well as support staff apart from coaches. Yet, i won't be surprised if both of them , right now must be saying this was a well competed test series. 1-4 has not happened at all. It's we who have won the series...in dreams. Who cares what scoreline says. Won't be surprised if think tank puts their heads down in sand like Ostrich. All respect to England for being a major team and playing at home, but even we are ranked No. 1 (ok,i know the home series took us to No.1), we are not supposed to end up with scorelines that Bangladesh and other teams will be proud of when touring England. India wins 1 test match out of lengthy 5 test series. How good does that looks. Pathetic.

Next is two home tests against West Windies. Eagerly awaiting for the home series. Very confident of winning that. So brighter things are very near - in fact just three weeks away. :dance

TBH winnings a series when you not deserving it is a good sign of a good team.
the last great English team stole 2 series in couple years.
