Much needed knock this one, both openers were starting to feel some pressure, Raval got a start, and Latham huge runs, much needed, and good to see

Don't think so

This sri Lankan bowling attack is absolutely terrible

I think that's being a little blase. Yes, the Sri Lanka attack is poor, especially in non-Asian conditions, but no one else made a hundred, and they took the other ten NZ wickets for just over 300. 11 wickets went down yesterday, indicating it's not the flat track that a lot of other big scores have been made on. And carrying one's bat is a rare feat on its own - breaking the record for most runs doing so is quite an achievement.

I agree it's probably not the innings of the year due to the weakness of the opposition attack, but it's still a bloody good effort. I think I know what I'd pick for the best - are we having the CMS awards this year to see what the consensus is?

Excellent day for the SL bats though. Two of them anyway.

I'll concede that the pitch might have flattened out just a touch :)

Seems to happen quite a bit in new Zealand

Pitches don't deteriorate just get flatter and flatter

True. There was Auckland earlier this year, and who can forget McCullum's marathon against India a few years back?

New Zealand rain intervenes once again and the match is drawn.

I've done this last couple of years and may well do it next year, but can't do it this.

Yup. I think they usually have a game of some sort on the 26th.

Chameera and Roshen in for Rajitha and Dhananjaya. New Zealand are unchanged.

Kiwis batting.

Great year in Tests for NZ.
