How were the two such good friends? Head must have been still in his teens when Hughes died, and Head is a South Australian, Hughes was NSW's wasnt he? They couldnt have crossed paths in the national setup. Are they related?
Hughes was playing for SA (against NSW, at the SCG) when he was hit. Head was a very early starter in his 1st class career.
just looked it up, Both of them started playing 1st Class for SA in 2012
