Dickwella aside, the Sri Lanka batsmen haven't coped with Australian pace.
:no
Sri Lanka 144 all out.

Dickwella 44

Cummins 4-39
Richardson 3-26
Starc 2-41

Handy debut from Richardson.

Great idea to play SL at the Gabba and not India :facepalm

Not all bad for SL, as they will now get to bowl to Australia under lights at the Gabba.

The ball should move a lot. And a middle order of Labuschagne, Head and Patterson should not be to much of a problem.......

Would not be surprised to see Australia 4-6 down by the end of play.... If they can get past the set openers....

Lyon, a night watchman or a suitable middle order batsman for Australia?

Tough to tell on my feed with the Gabba having multi coloured seats and all the adverts that are shown.

Just because i like to feel down.

This Australian team has a total of 10 test centurys. 3 for Burns and 7 for Khawaja.

Only one test century as been scored by players in this team in the last year. Khawaja in Dubai. Since then he has had 10 innings passing 50 once and averages 23.5. :panic

No Australian Batsman has scored a 100 in the last 10 innings......

The most experienced batsman in this team. Khawaja with 39 tests.

4 to 6 batting have a combined number of tests of 9.( Unless lyon is the new number 4, in which case 86)

Labuschagne in his first test came in to bat below M Marsh. In this test he was selected to bat at 4.........

Some positives. Cummins could be something special.

Lyon is still doing well considering what he has to defend against.

Harris and Head are performing better than the other batsman in this team so maybe their selection has been right.

Paine seems to still have a sense of humour after being given the worse job in world sport.

Good start for Jhye Richardson, and getting used to Cummins putting in good perfomances, Harris will want to push on here

It is a good chance for Harris to possibly cement his place for a while. He has shown a bit of temperament in the India series, but he will need to do more in this series to show he is worth a place in the ashes team.

Fine debut yesterday from Richardson...best of the bowlers early on , though all did a job . Sri Lanka as expected not up to it. Head and Labuschagne have taken the home team into a solid lead already and I think this will be pretty one-sided.

We might be about to see the first Australian century of the Summer.

Or maybe not......

Labuschagne though has scored the highest Australian score of the summer.....

And this middle order has score about 100 runs more than i thought it would. Cummins must be relieved that the pressure is now of him to contribute with the bat again.
