Mohammad Hafeez
Sarfraz Ahmed
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan

Junaid Khan

Faheem Ashraf has played a similar amount of games then there is a falling off to the other options. Imam ul Haq might open in reality. Not sure how much in favour Hafeez is at the moment. Or Azhar. Haris Sohail might figure.

Azhar Ali is doubtful with Imam and Fakhar to open. Junny too will miss with Shaheen Afridi ahead of him. Junny might not even make the squad. Faheem Ashraf likely to be their first choice pace all-rounder for those conditions.

Harris Sohail is injured. Hussain Talat will likely be his cover till then.

The Aussie have been casting a wide net in ODIs over the past year. Only five players have participated in a double figure number of games. Here's a team based on how often they've been picked (outside Asia) in the last 12 months.

Finch
Carey
S.Marsh
Head
Maxwell
Stoinis
M.Marsh
Starc
J.Richardson
Tye
Zampa

Of course there is Smith and Warner to factor in and they'll make that side look a lot better. As will Hazlewood and Cummins who are likely to figure. Agar might be an option. So the side the Aussies have been picking isn't so much the one that will travel. The Aussie fielded 29 different options in the past 12 months.

Assuming the two Bad Boys are fit , Australia likely will be :

Finch
Warner
S Marsh
Smith
Maxwell
Carey
Stoinis
Cummins
Starc
Richardson
Zampa

Or something like that. Batting order open to change. And a couple of others who might push their way in but I reckon that won't be far off.

Reeza looks line settling in the South African lineup for the WC. He, Rassie and Janneman Malan looks like a future LOI lineup to me post WC...if Amla retires or is dropped.

For WC it seems

Amla
Quinton
Reeza / Rassie / Aiden / JPD
Faf
Reeza / Rassie / Aiden / JPD
Miller
Andile

+
3 pacers
1 spinner

Out of Reeza , Rassie and Aiden ...Reeza looks a likely candidate in playing 11.

:clap

I think it was Gavaskar after that innings. On the way back to the dressing room someone managed to hit him with their packed lunch, so disgusted they were by his lack of effort. Most people nowadays bring up the innings as a way of showing how terribly boring 1970s ODI cricket was or how people didnt know how to play it, but England made 336 in their innings, which Im guessing must have been somewhere near there best for a long time in that format.

At the time it was hugely controversial, as the fans obviously didnt pay to see someone taking what was essentially a net in the middle of an international match. Its been suggested that Gavaskar actually threw the match in protest at the selectors, who wanted to dismantle the much celebrated 4 man spin attack away from home, much to Gavaskar's disgust (and the fact he lost the captaincy). So he decided just to bat like he was saving a test on day 5.

Ted Dexter was furious, and stated the Indian coach should have came onto the pitch and removed him. And during the actual innings, it is said a number of people from the crowd invaded the pitch to approach Gavaskar and tell him to get on with it. Very unpopular and controversial decision at the time.
