If we assume that neither are first choice, then Willey v Curran is a tough call. Depends on whether 4 or 5 overs at the start or end of an innings are considered more important to have cover for, I guess...

Another option would be to pick them both, and leave out Denly/Dawson intending to pick only one spinner if Moeen/Rashid miss a game through injury/illness. Not ideal though.
Sports broadcasting media nut miscast as a hard-working family man. Or should that be the other way around?

Since last WC

Archer 23.00 (12 overs)
Plunkett 28.02
Curran 29.33 - I would be unhappy for him to miss out

Willey 35.22
Stokes 43.30

Faheem Ashraf has played a similar amount of games then there is a falling off to the other options. Imam ul Haq might open in reality. Not sure how much in favour Hafeez is at the moment. Or Azhar. Haris Sohail might figure.

Azhar Ali is doubtful with Imam and Fakhar to open. Junny too will miss with Shaheen Afridi ahead of him. Junny might not even make the squad. Faheem Ashraf likely to be their first choice pace all-rounder for those conditions.

Harris Sohail is injured. Hussain Talat will likely be his cover till then.

Going to be interesting to see how Australia go. Mitchell Starc 4 years ago was deadly in the World Cup, and his record is ridiculous, but he's apparently only played 7 matches in the last 2 years (stat taken from an article from Aussie media, not checked it, but Im doubtful its true) and not done too well when he has played. Lyon is in there, a player who's largely been forgotten but with a quite canny econ rate. Wee Davey and Smith have a lot to prove, the former has been banging runs in the IPL.... Maxwell has been on very good form recently.

Got a feeling its a team that could surprise a lot of people, even if it does maybe lack a bit of top order firepower to someone like England

Why are you doubtful sussex?

I checked on cricinfo. Since the end of the Champion's Trophy 2017, Starc has played 7 ODIs for Australia out of 31 played in that time. They've all been at home - he hasn't played a single ODI outside Australia. And his stats have been 11 wickets at an average of 37, econ 6.1, SR 36, compared to his career stats of Av 21, econ 4.95, SR 26.

Unclear why he's played so few. It's partly been injury and squad rotation. But he's been out of form recently too.

Just seems a really low number for a.player of obvious quality, and I'm sure he played a whole series.v England.

He did. 4 of those 7 ODIs were the England series in Australia.

He didn't play the England series in England last summer.

Series against England was very bad for Faheem. Runs are expected from him and he failed to score as well as was very expensive in the recent series. If he had scored some runs he would have been in squad, but without his runs his bowling isn't better than the options Pakistan have.Even Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali can be expected to score the runs Faheem Ashraf was scoring on basis of recent form. He however was handled well by PCB selectors as he got a good run in LOI format. Can't blame anyone else for his non-selection.

Asif Ali has shown better promise with the bat this month. Obviously he is a much better hitter than Faheem Ashraf, but imo the 50 he scored against England recently got him the place.
