And now Ashley Giles says Hales would have stayed in the squad if the drugs ban hadn't been revealed in the press!

Probably true but not a wise thing to say imo.

Yes, very odd. Not everyone was at the same meeting. Morgan is making it clear Hales wouldn't have been welcome.

Still, Hales hasn't been sacked and there is a way back. Unlike the fate that befell a South African born England batter.

Just a warning for Drugs ? Lucky man. Even after a warning for drugs intake one does it again. It's being stupid. That he is still not arrested probably gives me a feeling that drugs must be legal in the place where he took them. But ECB have right to not select him for drug related offences in suppose.

If Denly is in the WC squad to provide cover for Moeen or Rashid, should one of them be ill the morning of game, is everyone else concerned about the quality of his bowling?

Maybe Dawson would be a better pick.

In limited overs, I can't remember him getting many chances. In fact, not many have had chances in the past few years. Parry got a couple of goes in T20. Livingstone lost his buzz. Crane isn't an all rounder.

Dawson seemed a bad pick in Tests though.

Flat Earth Flintoff wants Archer in, and in turn, "anyone" should be dropped to make way.

Freddy is a flat earther? :facepalm

I'm agnostic on Archers inclusion. I think hes good enough, whether or not Id use this occasion to find out....I dont know. But hes very talented, and I think if included, he can do a job.

Unsure how legit.

I see Archer more as a prospect with the T20 world cup next year in mind. He's rather unproven at List A level at this point.

What is it about England's decent allrounders being utter prats.

Presumably there will be six pace options: Willey, Wood, Woakes, Stokes, Plunkett, Archer.

Plus: Roy, Bairstow, Root, Vince, Morgan, Buttler, Moeen, Denly or Dawson, Rashid.

So T.Curran misses out more than anyone else. Ball and Stone aren't serious contenders. S.Curran hasn't played much. Overton, R.Jones played a game each. Finn and Jordan have faded away.
