not as daft as it sounds. there is a sense that England are planning to host a high scoring world cup played on true decks, so this might give them the chance to see where they stand with that idea.

it'll make him feel better though... Of course, according to Bayleaf the gardener he'll get another chance in a world cup final later this year, and he's prepared to gamble with the health of test cricket to try and get him there
