England showing yet again that their favourite tag might be an exaggeration.

On the other hand - that team was missing several first choice players, Archer was an experiment, and perhaps best of all, England recovered from a collapse, whereas they normally lose horribly when that happens. So it could have been worse...

I think its a big positive for England. In the past they would have lost that, but their middle order did what had to be done, and won comfortable in the end after loosing 5 for 35. A better test then winning by 8 wickets with 20 overs to spare.

None of those (Willey, Foakes, TC) will be in the WC side though.

Foakes himself even admitted that he may struggle to play another ODI again when Buttler and Bairstow return, crazy the depth we have in whute ball cricket now with the bat and gloves.
