Sri Lanka Emerging Team tour of South Africa

Postby The Professor » Mon Jul 01, 2019 9:33 pm

As their senior team have had mixed fortunes in the World Cup, the nominal Sri Lanka A team have enjoyed a successful start to their month long tour of South Africa.

After winning their first match against a South African Emerging Team, they then beat the University Sports South Africa XI today.

Despite the batting prowess of the South African Delano Potgieter who scored an 111 ball 124, Sri Lanka's all round performance saw them overhaul the University sides' 268 with two balls remaining.

There are a further 6 more ODIs between Sri Lanka and the South African Emerging team of the USSA before a two match unofficial Test against the SAE team.

Completely forgot about this tournament - and it is one that Sri Lanka are dominating.

Sri Lana beat South Africa today thanks to a well executed century from Pathum Nissanka.

Sri Lanka have won four games in the tournament with USSA winning one and South Africa beating Sri Lanka in their second game of three - this meant that this was a measure of revenge for the Sri Lankans.

South Africa will play USSA to see who will play Sri Lanka in the final.
