Funny. If you'd offered England 230 before a ball had been bowled, they'd probably have taken it. But after the start they had, and 175-7, they'll be disappointed, and Australia will believe they have a chance.

If australia defend this score then they deserve to be in the final

Looking at the weather forecast the England batsmen should keep one eye on the D/L par score

And it's all over. 224 for England to reach their first final since 1992.

You'd have taken that after losing the toss.

Frankly, if England can't chase it, and Australia can defend it, then England don't deserve to be in the final or be called number 1 in the world.

For a change, with a sub-par score by Australia, it was pretty much all down to quality England bowling and fielding. With the exception of Carey's dismissal, which was a poor shot choice.

Great run out of Smith by Buttler.

The lbw shout? I guess Australia need those calls to go for them to win this game. Starc is bowling lightening quick that over.

This is a perfect scenario to see how Jason Roy would fare as an opener for The Ashes

Events at Old Trafford yesterday and the famous semi-final at Edgbaston in 1999, this match is far from being decided.

Rashid's shoulder injury is probably why he has bowled below par until today.

Dom Bess signing for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast probably confirms Rashid will have his shoulder operated on, can't see him featuring in The Ashes when bowling workloads will increase considerably.

Rather than throw his wicket away, can Bairstow leave the field of play and come back on if necessary?
