Root stranded on 49*...

And for once, it wasn't win the toss, bat first, win the game. Good toss to lose perhaps? It certainly did a bit in the first few, but England did bowl very well. Starc got hammered - 1-70 off 9 (and Lyon, Smith and Stoinis all got destroyed too).

We just played miles better cricket and have a much more balanced team

When we play well nobody can beat us

Only question left to answer is can they do it in the final

With the terrible form of most of new zealands top order we are heavy favourites for me

Win the toss, make 300, win the game

Sounds easy hahaha

No doubt if England play like that they'll be hoisting the trophy on Sunday. When they play well, they will beat anybody.

Let's hope they can sustain it for just 100 more overs.

And the great thing about this result is that we will have new world champions.

Going to be the 6th nation to have won the world cup Out of an elite group of 10, thats a pretty impressive return and suggest cricket at this level can be pretty even.

It would be such a good moment for this country were England to win.

In the light of everything else happening here :(

Very rarely as an England fan, have I been so confident of an England victory so early and so unwaveringly throughout a game....and it was against Australia. Bonza.

Well, well done England. Comprehensive victory. Good for all you England fans. Enjoy the next few days, and enjoy Sunday.

I expect that Morgan will be holding the cup aloft early Monday morning our time. They have to be firm favourites - but India were overwhelming favourites...

I'll be supporting the Kiwis, but not expecting them to win. Either side winning their first ever CWC will be a big thing, and quite exciting.

It's very strange for me, I'm normally as negative as it gets for England sports teams

But the second we beat New Zealand and qualified I was convinced we would win the whole thing

And I am still very confident

Even if we lose I will be satisfied that the team showed the world what we are capable of by comfortably beating India, Australia and New Zealand in what were pressure games for us

Whoever wins the final I feel like we have shown who the best 50 over side in the world is (bar the brain fade against sri lanka)

Dr Cricket (Bhavesh) might have a spare one, vaguely remember him saying he would sell a spare to forum members.

SKY make a partnership with C4 to show the final.

Christ, am I dreaming? Cricket administration finding a way to do something right now? Could be a watershed moment for the game if 10 million people tune in to watch England lift the trophy in an exciting game. Or, just like 2005, 10 million tune in and then it goes behind a paywall for another 15 years, while 50,000 tune in per day, and it slowly dies.

Still, fill your boots
