Tri-Nation Under-19s Tournament

Postby The Professor » Thu Jul 18, 2019 9:30 pm

Bit of a mammoth tournament here with England, India and Bangladesh playing each other 4 times over the next month.

England played a warm up match against Ireland Academy players today and had the beating of them comfortably.

Only just 18, Warwickshire's Dan Mousley got a score of 146 and backed it up with a wicket.

In a packed opening to the tournament, England play India on Sunday and Bangladesh on Monday.

Am visiting the soon to be mother in law in Bristol this week and was toying with taking on England's game with India on Friday....but on this current form I shan't bother.

England have been comprehensively beaten in both games of this tournament so far.

First by India yesterday by five wickets and then, more humblingly by Bangladesh today by 6 wickets. Tanzim Hasan Sakib was the pick of the Bangladeshis with 4-49.

Bangladesh next play India on Wednesday.

England have been woefully unimpressive in this tournament with a solitary win. The big surprise is the fact that Bangladesh have looked more impressive than India. A sign of things to come?

England were in with a shot today but very much let it slip away from them as they struggled to get regular wickets in the middle overs. The real damage was dibe ny Mahmudul Hasan Joy who got 81 and batted from over 8 through to over 45.

I didn't catch the ned of yesterday's match.

Presumably that was the end of the groups and the final is between India and Bangladesh?
