Archer is supposed to be able to bat

not seen much evidence of it so far

Leach batted for an hour, which shows what can be done.

Well done you Aussies. Extra special to win the Ashes away from home. Can't see them losing at the Oval either.

Surprising that England got to within about 13 or 14 overs from safety. The bowlers nearly managing to do what the batsmen couldn't.

Aye... well done Australia and well done Steve Smith, but you had nothing to beat, sadly

all we need now is for Bayleaf to *modded* off asap and never darken our door again

close the door on the way out Bayleaf!

don't forget to leave your key behind on the dresser, because we don't want to have to call security

671 runs in 3 matches

astonishing really

I'd suggest that not even SRT could do that, but I don't fancy having half a million people turning up at my house tomorrow to throw dog sh1t at my windows, so I'll actually say only SRT would be able to better that

Fell short of Gooch's triple ton and a ton in the same game though.

Just think how many Smith could have got in an old six match series. Well played Aussies, thoroughly deserved after the last game when we rode our luck.

Many changes for the Oval?

While he doesn't have the technical romance of a kohli or lara, o think we all have to admit now....Smith is the best bat in any of our lives. The guy just doesn't miss. His output is mental.

This was a life defining series....he underline legend with multicoloured pen, and lots of stars around it

Bring in a quickie for the oval?

Roy and Buttler should be dropped but who for? Buttler seems slightly harsh but the fact that he has had one of his better games but only scored 40 odd and 30 odd says it all.

Expect some big changes for Aus as well.

Very happy that Aus have retained the ashes, but they have yet to win the series.

I think Buttler and Roy should make way. I'd leave out Bairstow as well.

Got a feeling players coming in at the Oval might be abandoned for the old guard for the winter if they don't do well straight away. Whereas if they keep the present team together for the fifth Test, they might be dropped for the tours if they fail again.

I heard Stokes isn't fit, so maybe Curran might return for him.

Did any of us actually think when Smith first came along that he make a good test batsman, never mind a true all time great? I didn't.
