Cricinfo says it's a dry, cracked, grassless pitch which demands batting first at the toss. They think a second spinner might be worthwhile.

How the selectors have ignored the 67 all out is beyond me

When you have a specialist batsmen batting at 7 below your all rounder and wicket keeper you know the selection is all wrong

seemingly England haven't won an ashes test at OT since Beefy won one for them in '81 (was that the 5 wickets for 1 run match?)

highest run scoring ground in England for ashes tests, I think, which means that Australia Smith will probably only have to bat once against this England line up

That was Edgbaston. He scored a ton at Old Trafford.
