3 balls
is that it?
perhaps Bayleaf told him to go and impose himself on the bowlers
Isn't even Roy

you couldn't *modded* make it up
Why did Australia even bother to bat again?
Cummins fancies doing a Malinga

the irony is that Roy is going to be batting in the first over anyway

Roy faced a couple of balls, at four, before Denly as opener faced any.

Hell of a ball to Root though.
Not much he could have done there. Might have even troubled Smith.

now that Australia have retained the ashes, I wonder if they'll let Durham have their captain back... still 3 games to go in the CC and we could use him, tbh. Got to be better than picking his arse in the Aussie dressing room

people complain about Root always getting out in the seventies, but I'm more concerned that he's had 3 ducks in 8 innings, 2 of them first ballers (I think)
good idea to move him out of position to cover a problem somewhere else
nice one Bayleaf.... another masterstroke
add it to the list, with our thanks

perhaps Australia will employ an English head coach to *modded* up mastermind their home ashes series in 18 months time
which is a bit unfair, because everyone knows it takes a good 4 years to dismantle a proud test nation so effectively that it takes at least another 4 years for them to even remotely recover

Still 8 wickets to get.
After the last test anything is still possible.
The fact that Roy is still their shows this.

Hmm. Tim Paine will be holding a plastic replica urn aloft at close of play tomorrow.
England can use the Oval to start their rebuilding programme.

It is the most likely outcome, but after what happened last time.....

England bowled tactically slowly yesterday so I hope there is some strike back for that.
