Cricinfo says it's a dry, cracked, grassless pitch which demands batting first at the toss. They think a second spinner might be worthwhile.

How the selectors have ignored the 67 all out is beyond me

When you have a specialist batsmen batting at 7 below your all rounder and wicket keeper you know the selection is all wrong

I imagine they realised that England were just a bit unlucky in that innings

seemingly England haven't won an ashes test at OT since Beefy won one for them in '81 (was that the 5 wickets for 1 run match?)

highest run scoring ground in England for ashes tests, I think, which means that Australia Smith will probably only have to bat once against this England line up

Good luck boys, you'll *modded* need it, I think

That was Edgbaston. He scored a ton at Old Trafford.

You've been very busy then, Footman. In '81 I was 12 years older than you, but now I am younger...?

Have seen Botham's Ashes since then on fuzzy VHS to aid the recall.

I've got it on a dvd somewhere....... combined with 2005

no mention of 06/07, of course

soon they'll have to to re-issue it with a one match 'bonus feature' addendum from Headingley 2019
