12 of crickets smaller fish are over in Kuala Lumpur for the first round of two sessions of qualification to progress to the next stage of knockouts with the prize being a place in the 2023 World Cup.

This leg sees Canada, Denmark, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore and Vanuatu face off against each other.

After 7 games, Canada and Qatar are the early front runners with 2 wins from two followed by Denmark, Singapore and Malaysia who have a 50% success rate. Vanuatu bring up the rear.

In today's game, Denmark absolutely humiliated Vanuatu and claimed a 148 run win, this coming three days after Canada only needed 32 overs to overhaul their total of 160.

After posting 220, Jinjo Jojo got 4-29 to ensure that only 2 Vanuatu batsmen got into double figures. They were all out for just 72.

Tomorrow is a rest day but on Sunday. Canada face Qatar with Singapore coming up against Vanuatu.

First round of this was completed today with a bit of a crunch match between Canada who started the day unbeaten and Singapore who had three wins and a loss.

In a (marginally) shocking turn of events Singapore were the eventual victors with their total of 245 proving well too much for Canada who fell for just 191.

This despite Abraash Khan finishing the first round of this lengthily tournament with a fivefer and ending the five match series asking why he was not selected earlier.

After this round Canada and Singapore are top, with Qatar in third, Denmark fourth and Malaysia and Vanuatu bottom of the pile with just a solitary win from their five games.

The second group of players comprising of Hong Kong, Kenya, Uganda, Jersey, Bermuda and Italy will meet in Hing Kong from the 25th to the 10th December.
