Abbas was talked to for running on the pitch. Maybe there's some typical England v Pakistan jiggery-pokery going on.

Even of JB2 makes runs here, there's still his keeping to consider. But I doubt he'll be dropped this summer.

If he saves the game he won't be dropped.... it will be taken as a total vindication of selection policy, even though he's been hopeless for a very long time

sussexpob wrote:The pitch has been really weird. Yesterday a lot of balls took off, then it settled down. Pakistan took the new ball and it almost looked flat for 10-15 overs, but now it feels like England are batting in the middle of the no mans land at the Somme. Maybe the softer seam/ball just reacts differently on the surface.

Pakistans 326 is starting to look like a mammoth score on this deck

Pitch has indeed been odd. Variable , I suppose you could say...but the logic of why it has gone from placid to wicked and back again rather escapes me. Not as if it has just been new balls doing things ; has occasionally popped with an old one. Been turn and bounce for spinners throughout ; but Azhar is probably afraid to go back to his spinners now after some rough treatment before tea.

Short pitched attack now...

England's to lose now. Ball hasn't really misbehaved at all, until woakes just got one go off like a hand grenade

New ball in fifteen overs. Probably just out of Pakistan's reach,

Pope might disagree :)

But if you mean since then , it really hasn't done much.

52 to get. Hard to envisage this two hours ago ! Still not calling this as we've seen some collapses in this match. Pakistan haven't fallen apart in the field ; but the sting has gone out of the bowling. Might come back if they get a wicket...

This'll be England's second highest run chase on this ground.

Pakistan out of reviews.
