Very inconsistent from JB1 in ODIs this summer. His average of 34, with a SR of 102 is good, but that's made up of 2, 82, 4, 84, 0.

In T20s, he's just under 20 with a SR of 127, again not bad. But similarly, there are two scores and then a lot of single figures: 2, 44, 0, 8, 9, 55.

Root and Morgan taking their time.

And now Root removed by Zampa...

Tough going for England today so far. I'm inclined to think more down to excellent Aussie bowling and a difficult surface than just out of form bats- Morgan has generally been pretty fluent this year and he's struggled as much as any.

Probably not a bad time for Buttler to come in , with the spinner on (He fell to Zampa on Friday , yes ...but I think he'll be a bit more careful today). Need these two to put a partnership together...

... the bowlers in early. Anything over 250 would be ok I guess.

Rather Mo was in than Sam Curran. Though Joe Root will probably bowl a few.

looking at this series, it's just as well the world cup was last year

what are they playing at?

is it all about the pitch?

find out when Aus bat, I suppose

Good effort from Rashid. Gives England a faint chance.

fine work from Turran/Rashid to give themselves something to bowl at

I fancy that they are going to have to bowl well.

Usual story after a loss where the batsmen struggled.... change a bowler.... always works, seemingly... it must do

so no pressure on the Curran boys

Good work from Curran and Rashid to put up something almost respectable...

Difficult pitch ; but they'll need to bowl really well. And field better than Australia did.

Not the best start , actually. One run given up to a misfield , and then a clear run out chance missed in just the first over :)

Wee Davie out though. Runs coming too easily.

Ow, Woakes has just turned the game on its head. Tom strangling the runs. Great figures for Archer too.

But he and Woakes bowled out. Hmm.

Sam gets Cummins. Not many runs to get, but not many wickets either. Feels tense.

There goes Mitch2. Still game on though.

Carey has to take charge.

well he hasn't up to now

long way to go for Australia here

I was surprised that Woakes and Archer bowled out so early, but it was the game changer. Got to hand it to Capt Morgs. Completely turned the game on its head. Looking forward to the highlights

not over yet, of course. Still time for Carey and Hazlewood to go on the charge

Too late now. Aussies just ground to a halt.
