Rahkeem Cornwall picked up his second Test five-for

You love to see it.

Might be a closer contest than the one in Chennai.

I didnt know that Joshua Da Silva was a white guy. While Brendan Nash played for the Windies in recent times, he wasnt native born in the Carribbean; I am guessing you have to go a long way back in time to find a native born white player to represent the Windies. Apparently of Portuguese descent.

Another thing I noticed was BD batsman batting helmetless to spin today..... I was under the impression that helmets were mandatory at all times, even to spin. Did this rule change again?

Yes, after the abolition of slavery in 1838, many of the black ex slaves moved off the plantations, and squatted on unused Crown lands. Especially in Trinidad and Guyana, where there was a lot more available land. So, the British imported indentured labourers into these two colonies from West Africa, Germany, China, India and Portuguese from Madeira.

Joshua da Silva is a descendant of Portuguese Madeirans in Trinidad. Mike Atherton wife is descended from Portuguese Madeirans in Guyana.

Imho, da Silva is better with both gloves and bat than Dowrich. I think he's the first Caribbean born white man to play for the West Indies since Geoff Greenidge in the 1970s.

Do Portuguese descendants form a large group in the population of these islands, or small minorities?. Never heard of any of that.

In 1891, the Portuguese population of Guyana was over 4%, but it's been in decline since then, and it's now less than 0.5% in each of these two countries now, I think.
