Amazing fightback by WI. Only 100 to win with six wickets to spend.
I always say that everybody's right.

This is Mayers' Test debut and his highest fc score by some way. Averages 29.

One of the great comebacks. And surely one of the greatest 4th innings bats.

Colour me astonished.

Didn't think they'd get near that target. New record chases coming every other week it seems these days...

Sounds as if they have found the New Lara :) Where have they had this chap hidden ?

Delighted for long suffering West Indian fans :thumb

On a more light hearted note, I did have to double take at the name of the city this game was played in.

Chattogram?

Insane chase. Covid has been throwing up some results that go against expectations. One of the statistically outstanding fourth innings knocks of all time by Meyers.

Well played WI

West Indies off to a fine start second game too...325/6. Nothing from Mayers this time but 90 from another "new boy" (he's 32) in Bonner. He has a first class average of only 27 so it is easy to see why he has had to wait a long time for a debut ; but apparently he can play spin...

West indies 409 all out

Da Silva 92
Bonner 90
Joseph 82

Jayed 4-98
Taijul 4-108

Yes, Bonner has done well. He and Mayers deserve to play when Holder and co become available again. Da Silva should be considered ahead of Dowrich for the gloves.
