What an opening game!

Danajaya takes a hat-trick, then the next over he gets hit for six sixes by Kieron Pollard.

Gamechanger of the match award goes to Dwayne Bravo for his diligent knock of 4 off 17 balls :salute

Wow - that run out obstructing the field today - looked very harsh to me. He wasn't in any danger of being run out anyway - can't believe the WI even appealed!

That is such a tough call from the Umpire and like you red im not sure why WI appealed.

Not a good look for me.

I was not impressed by the appeal, but even less impressed by the decision of the third umpire, who had several replays to reverse the decision....

I think the on field umpires soft decision was out, from which there was not enough evidence to over rule.

I would love to see the exact measurement of the boundaries, because this Coolidge Ground looks smaller than my under-12 schoolboy level venues we played at, so small in fact I debate if it can even meet minimum requirements for a venue (in fact, the ground was only ever a hosting venue for cricket matches funded by a man who get 110 years for fraud, and now I believe is being used because of Covid, so are the regulations just being ignored to facilitate this series?).

It was only a few weeks ago some Hetmyer slog went viral at the same venue, because he hit it outside the ground into someone house meaning the fielder had to go and knock for the ball back.... but I have a feeling rather than it being a noteworthy massive hit, if you extended the boundary to be like the SCG, the house in question would be somewhere behind the inner ring.

Not sure many of those sixes Pollard hit would clear even a medium size boundary. One of them, his bat it pointed directly upwards and he sort of slices across the ball..... beat the boundary by a mile, despite the fact he got pretty much nothing on it.

interesting - the bowlers did well then to keep the scores down given the size of bats nowadays and the power of some oif the batters

Struggling to decide if those West Indian openers are in the form of their lives or if Sri Lankan bowling is on it's knees. Evin Lewis looked eminently unbothered throughout the whole series.
