Ireland A Tour of Bangladesh

Postby The Professor » Fri Feb 26, 2021 7:59 pm

This second string series started off today - it comprises a test, 5 ODIs and 2 T20s.

It was an inauspicious start for the tourists as Tanvir Islam's fiver limited them to a below par total of 151 in the first day of the Unofficial Test. In reply Bangladesh are already 81-1. Ireland need to make inroads quicksmart.

It could have been a lot worse of Ireland A on the second Day....but it is safe to say it also could have been a lot better.

They did get more regular wickets - however the failure to see of Yasir Ali (92, 115b) meant that the Bangladesh Emerging Team got to 313 - a lead of 163. This gap looked even more ominous after Ireland A went to stumps four down for just 31 runs.

Tanvir Islam wrapped up the Irish innings with consummate ease meaning that the Bangladesh Emerging Team only had to bat the once.

The Barishal player ended up with figures of 13-36 in the match.

The teams face off in the first ODI on Friday.
