I wonder what the averages of the last generation of Australian bats would be if you discounted their home average against the West Indies? It seems West Indies tour here every 2-3 years, Australia prepares flat pitches, win the toss, bat, the batsmen build their averages nicely and WI get hammered. The script of nearly every match is the same. No wonder no-one is turning up to watch.

That was all just too much of a carve up to hold much interest. West Indies were bound to struggle , especially after losing key bowlers to injury (Aussies did too : but they have much better reserves !). Still they'll be disappointed to have folded so meekly.

Tough tour for them. At least they look to have found a good 'un in young Chanderpaul. But they need a couple more solid bats , and a decent spin bowler.

Australia have to be happy with that. Although how good a preparation for the SA contest it has been is questionable.
