Looks like being a good start to Mitch3's captaincy. His unbeaten 92 helps Aus to a healthy 226, and RSA are very unlikely to run that down, needing something like 16 runs an over from the last 8, 5 wickets in hand.

The only time I looked at the score, they were 5/187 at the end of the 26th. They lost 3 for 4 in 3 overs.

Very strange one with Bavuma. He's been the beneficiary in test cricket of a quota policy and a political shift in South Africa cricket, and did not deserve anywhere near as many chances that he got to prove himself (mid to low 30s average is pretty meh)....

But they hardly ever picked him in ODI cricket, but now they do, he's been wracking up mountains of runs..... even more surprising is, he not in anyway a power hitter either, and is doing it with good old fashioned timing and placement.

Maybe this new sustained form and being forced to bat positively in ODIs might give him another dimension in test cricket, where in fairness most of the time he has been a bit of a dour grinder.

South Africa came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

Klaasen with a big century in the fourth. Maharaj and Jansen bowled out Australia in the fifth.
