Yes! Disastrous. Pity it's only a two test series.

55 not out.... I guess we shall find out soon if this is a great bowling performance, or the pitch is of sub standard.

India racing to 43 off 7 overs, so I guess that answered the question about the pitch....

Shubman Gill could do with a score. He's got amazingly deep potential, but he's been pretty poor in test cricket so far.

India 153 all out!

Kohli 46

Ngidi 3-30
Rabada 3-38
Burger 3-42

I can't see anything wrong with the pitch. Maybe the high elevation adds that little extra bite to the pace, but I didn't see any two paced movement.

Amazing 23 wickets on day one of a test - not the record, but getting up there.

If you heard that one team was bowled out for 55 and the other for 153, you would assume that the side with the SIX DUCKS was the first one. No, just the one duck in the SA innings, six (6) in India's.

India were 4/153, and were bowled out for 153. Sounds like an amazing day's cricket.

I was staggered when I saw that SA had back to back triple wicket maiden overs

I take it back.

Now that I've watched more of this, the pitch is behaving dangerously and unpredictably bad from one end. The Weinberg end?

This is ridiculous.

Hope the pitch gets a suitably poor rating.

First South Africa announced sending a C team to NZ, now they prepare a pitch that will create a 5 session test match..... I guess we can safely conclude SA don't give a toss about the 5 day game anymore.

I am inclined to think the ICC should kick them out the WT20 unless they lift the ban on contracted players playing other formats
