Guess we will find out over the next couple of years as Khawaja surely won't play forever...

Batting stocks in Aus have been low for some years now. Which is why Warner got away with playing test cricket for so long, when to most observers, he didn't deserve to. There was just no-one that deserved to replace him (aside from Bancroft, of course).

The test side is going to have to go through a major regeneration fairly soon. Such an old side, with Khawaja, Smith, Hazelwood and Starc (at least) coming very close to the ends of their careers, and Cummins, Marsh, Lyon being not too far behind them.

Australia will do well to not wallow for some time. George Bailey may have to grow some teeth (and/or balls).

Yesterday further demonstrated/highlighted the strength of Australia's bowling depth as well as the paucity of decent batters in the country.

Basically one innings of note (from a bowling all-rounder at that) and a fair few starts made up the Aus innings.

This series has seen the selectors very willing to try new players, distinct from the test line up, which is quite static.

Windies bowled out for 86.

Aus reach the target in the 7th over.

Disappointing for cricket, this result.

their team selection is much more 20 over orientated than 50. They copped a hiding in the ODIs
