no England batsmen have scored more than once, tbh.
the nearest thing to a consistent batter England have had in this series is Crawley and he hasn't got a century to his name.
Poe, Duckett and Root have one century each and nothing else in 9 innings, Stokes has had a 70 and nothing else, Bairstow has had nothing, Foakes has had obduracy but no runs, whereas Crawley has 4 fifties to his name. The England batting has been pretty stark in this series.
Pope's big innings, magnificent though it was, accounts for 2/3rds of his total runs across 9 innings
Root's 122, over half of his total
Duckett's 153, almost half of his
It's been a series of dismal batting collapses from the batsmen
Hartley's 165 runs in the series is only 30 behind, those of Stokes, Bairstow and Foakes and only 70 behind Root. Hartley has been nearly as productive as any of the batsmen from 4 to 7.
All England's positives in this series have come from the young bowlers and the continued fitness of Stokes.
