Facing a bit of criticism for her batting, but Deepti Sharma has had two stonking performances. Firstly 9 wickets in the Test against England and then a fivefer against Australia in the final ODI. Overall 19 wickets in the month for the Indian.

no argument from me. She's been instrumental in India beating both England and Australia

Zimbabwe's domestic competition the Logan Cup has long been a destination for wintering County Championship players - but none have used it to emerge so suddenly into the limelight as Alex Russell.

A bit part player in the Northamptonshire set up, Russell has been in prodigious form for the Mashonalamd Eagles. He had a ten wicket haul in his first match and then followed that up with 12 in his second. With 33 overall he has 11 more than the second placed bowler in the competition.

A left field choice but also one to watch.

I can't look beyond Shamar Joseph. 13 wickets in 2 tests away in Australia and leasing his side to a famous win.

I tend to agree with the Joseph selection there, especially given his story as well

Not many players have had a better start to their Test career than Yashasvi Jaiswal He has made Bazball England look like right chumps with 23 6s so far in February and 560 runs across 3 Tests. In a crowded month for Test success, Jaiswal just edges out Rachin Ravindra for me….especially when you consider quality of opponent.

no argument for me. Jaiswal has been brilliant. Take away his runs and England and India would be quite close in terms of scoring.

Would be hard to pip Jaiswal after that series , I would think. Remarkable performance . Kuldeep wasn't too bad either ...

Was struggling for a definitive pick up until today where another big score for Kamindu Medis pushed me over the edge. He now has 50+ scores in hia first five innings of Test Cricket - joining Herbie Collins and Sunil Gavaskar on a fairly illustrious list. Mendis' 266 runs in the first Test is the 2nd-most scored by a batter at no.7 or lower in a Test, after Bradman's 270 (all 2nd inns) at MCG in 1936-37 Ashes whilst his 164 in the second innings is 6th highest score at 8 or lower in Tests (2nd highest in 2nd inns).
