Unlucky CF, suppose it was the first time your team encountered a stern challenge throughout the match after a very solid season thus far.

At least your side weren't completely outplayed, who knows this defeat might have come at the right time. Players galvanised and fired up for the final stretch in search of success.

Cricinfo90 lives in the drier and warmer part of Britain. Judging by the match reports, I guess cf90 plays a good standard of league cricket and on grounds with good facilities.

In contrast half of the matches in the league I play in got abandoned and the season didn't get underway until Week 3. Massive relegation battle of a game for my team this weekend, just hope it stays dry.

Match abandoned - the pearls of wisdom that is Bradford Council trying to cut a sodden outfield using heavy duty machinery and turning it into a mudbath.

GAME 13 IN THE LEAGUE:

REAL CRUNCH GAME MUST WIN!

1.G.Powell
2.J.Jackson
3.G.Hope
4.I.Barstable
5.G.Jackson
6.N.Maynard (wk)
7.Captain CF
8.N.Sammers
9.J.Long
10.S.McKenzie
11.P.Terry

Unchanged side:

Toss: I won the toss and chose to bowl first, reasons being pitch had been covers, if there was any moisture i wanted first use of the green tinge and obvious moisture that there would have been

After the first 10 overs however they had got to 50-0. I took the new ball with Terry and we werent great with it to be honest. Lengths were poor lines were wayward and we didnt set the tone well at all. I hauled myself off after 5 overs which went for 30! i brouht spin on to try and slow the rate down. It worked to a degree as S.mcKenzie picked up 3 wickets in the next 6 overs. There was a bit of spin there and i had plenty of bowling options. After 25 overs they were 130-5. So they were scoring runs but they were losing wicket as well. I decided that i would bowl Long through, and he took 2- 45 from his 10 overs, which i was very happy with. i brought myself back on from the other end, and took 1-17 from my next 5 overs, meaning i finished with 1-47 from 10, so i pulled it back quite well. They ended up closing on 240-9, so we pulled it back quite well, and at halfway i was happy with the way we fought back!

The chase didnt start well as we lost 2 wickets in the first 6 overs, for only 15 runs! I promoted myself to 5 to try and bat through for my side. We then found ourselves 3 down after 15 overs, for 70, picked the rate up but had lost another wicket. Their opening bowler, bowled through he was genuinely quick, and had our batsman hopping around the crease, easily quickest bowler i have ever faced. After 20 overs, we were 119-5. i was still there but i was running out of partners...we eased the 1's and 2's for around 10-15 overs couldnt afford to lose any more wickets at that stage! However in the 44th over i was going for a reverse sweep as 3rd man was in the circle and i top edged it straight in the air :facepalm I fell for 80 RUNS!!!!! and we were 200-6. However we got home eventually with 7 balls remaining!

We won by 4 wickets :joydance

ANOTHER WIN FOR THE SIDE :D

MY PERFORMANCE:

80 WITH THE BAT

1-47 FROM 10 WITH THE BALL
