3rd game of the season, finally saw our first win of the season! The side we played against had also lost their first two games, so this was a huge game, and one we had to win!

I did make quite a few changes, in search of the winning formula.

This was the side

1.B.Hunt (wk)
2.M.Edwards
3.Andy (CF) (c)
4.N.Sharp
5.S.Poskitt
6.M.Lewis
7.G.Welch
8.P.Terry
9.J.Pearn
10.N.Fuller
11.T.Lovejoy

I made quite a few changes. Pearn and Lovejoy made their first appearances of the season, Welch returned to the side, to offer more batting at number 7...spin bowling all-rounder Lewis, came in to the side, Poskitt, Sharp and Hunt all went up the order, as i searched for the right batting order.

We posted 195-9 from our 50 overs. Kent and Edwards got off to a good start, with Edwards going onto make a half century as i called him up from our 2nd's and made an immediate impact. I came in at no3 and made 30, looked in decent touch but got out trying to force the pace. Small contributions followed, but overrall was dissapointed with only posting 195-9.

In the chase Fuller, bowled an unplayable opening spell, bowling 10 overs on the reel, only conceding, 9 runs, bowling an immaculate line and length. Lovejoy returned from injury and got a wicket in his opening spell, and we had made a good containing start. Sharp took 4-33, Lewis took 1-39, and in a bold move, my keeper Kent also bowls handy off-breaks, and with the pitch breaking up, i chucked the gloves to Edwareds who keeps in the 2nd's, and gave Kent the ball. He returned figures of 2-28 from 7 overs, and spin ran through their batting line up as we bowled them out for 159, to post our first victory of the seasob! :)

Yeah i know it's frustrating, but early days in the season, some runs are nice i guess, particuarly as my bowling is taking a back seat at the moment

4th game of the season saw us win back to back games, and hopefully kick start our season :) Another bottom of table clash, however a win pushed us up to midtable...again changes were made due to injury/ un avaliablity

Here was the side

1.B.Hunt (wk)
2.M.Edwards
3.M.Pearn
4.C.Gaylor
5.Andy (CF)
6.N.Sharp
7.S.Poskitt
8.P.Terry
9.N.Fuller
10.J.Long
11.T.Lovejoy

Added some more batting in Pearn and Gaylor. Long also came back from injury to lead the attack.

I lost the toss and we were put into bat. Kent and Edwards made starts, making 11 and 14 respectively. Pearn fell cheaply for 4. I dropped myself down to 5, and something seemed to click. Me and Gaylor put on 50 for the 3rd wicket, and kick started the innings.. Gaylor fell on 21. I went onto make an unbeaten 67, whilst others fell around me...we fell to 80-8, and Long and Lovejoy stuck around to help me get my 50 and then push the innings up to 177-9.

In reply. Fuller nicked one out early doors caught at mid off. Their no3 came in and tried to smash every ball over cow corner and didn't connect to any. Terry got him in a tigh spell of 8 overs 1-13. All the bowlers chipped in but we needed something different. So at drinks i once again, changed keepers and brought Kent onto bowl.. he didn't let me down, he bowled a fantastic little spell of 3.2 overs and took 3-11. Completely changed the game, wickrts fell reguarly and we bowled them out for 147, with 7 overs left!

Great to register back to back wins, and on a personal note glad to finally convert one of the starts!

Rumour has it Andy has scored a century in one of the games and has led his comrades to the dizzy heights of mid-table.
