Sydney looks a nice ground and steeped in history. Bradman's home ground as well although I don't think his record there is great.

I suppose you'd miss things that you don't even think about, and things would annoy you that you've never thought of. The flies! My holiday in Australia was spent covered in flies. Maybe I'd be the archetypal whingeing Pom.

I looked that up during the last Test there. Bradman's record at Sydney is terrible. He averages 50!
As I said earlier on, the two famous stands are really, really fantastic at the SCG. But the rest of the ground creaks a bit. It's being redeveloped, which is probably a good thing. it's a nice ground to get to, set in a park. A park full of scalpers.
As well as being an amazing ground, the approach to the MCG is very dramatic.
I felt a bit guilty going to Australia for something as decadent as watching cricket, because of the long haul flight it entailed. But I'd love to go to Adelaide and Brisbane. It's very tempting.

A holiday to Aus, watching Cricket, sounds great, Arthur. Was this long ago?
I would suspect that most cricketers would vote Australia as their favourite tour.

I think UK is a popular tour. Because it is off season for everyone else, their visits here can be a little less hurried, and the travelling is relatively easy.
I just saw the last two Tests of the whitewash series. Which was a shame. But a privilege to see Melbourne and Sydney, which are great cities. And we travelled by car between the two, along the coast one way, which was beautiful, and inland the other way, which was like going back in time. But pretty memorable.

Mmm, very envious. I sometimes look at Melbourne and think it looks to big to be a Cricket ground. The atmosphere though sounds electric.
With that in mond, playing in fron of 50,000 ans at Eden Gardens would be an experience.

Yep, I'm watching alright. And that ball went to second slip! That was a great series. It's hard to believe that it was so long ago now. Sigh.

That Harmison ball was the most hyped in history. I've seen Morkel and Johnson bowl balls at least as wide. And other Harmison balls.

Because it was the first ball in the series, I expect. Yeah, go on you tube and you will fins much worse.

Yup, atleast Harmisson bowled a wide. I have seen Jade bowl one which landed a meter or two behind the stumps in the first IND-ENG ODI. Another one from some spinner didnt even reach the batsman .Think that was either in India-Pak or India-England series. I saw worse than what harmy bowled as many of those deliveries never reached the batters, even by pacers when they tried to bowl a slower one with back of hands. Few have even been bowled at short fine leg without pitching by one or two pacers

Most of these grounds ruin the backdrop with the concrete and steel build
Pukekura Park is best one of the lot, a naturally built cricket ground and i'm surprised New Zealand don't play more games there.
