IMO it would be tough for him to get back in..as they don't know if he will be fit enough mentally to tour other countries..which was the problem with Tres sadly..

I reckon he'll play.

Don't know how many though.

I think the selectors will want him back at some point and will take the risk.

me too

far too much collateral damage courtesy of the ashes debacle. Whether he'll get back in for a prolonged period of time, I couldn't say, but I think the temptation to bring him back in will be too great for England to resist

I think we'll struggle for the next few years, and at some point bringing Trott back will look like the best available option.

I'm not so sure he will, for two reasons. Firstly, he's 32 and England really need to start looking ahead to the future. Secondly, another Ashes series is looming and the Aussies will target him more than they did in Brisbane... as will the Kiwis in the summer. I reckon England should forget him, he's done.

Why do some keep comparing his problem to that of Trescothick, stress is totally different from depression.

Isn't Clarke 32, are his days also numbered?

Hard to predict anything with the England team management.

Regardless of any differences in the nature of their conditions (and we don't really know what the conditions are), the Trescothick fiasco should still be quite fresh in the selectors' minds.

I originally said yes but this was before his relapse at the start of the season.

I view of that I think it's very unlikely now.

Seems unlikely, and the team moves on quickly. But all it takes is for the new batters to struggle and Trott to score runs to make this question valid again.

Because of England's prospects, I think that he won't be back - there is so much crap around the England team atm, that bringing back Trott may be seen as too risky and even counterproductive.
