If they do, it'll be so tv audiences can sit at home and watch after work. Which is fair enough, in isolation

I think it will be worse for ticket buying watcher.

There will be more drunkenness
Most days it will be cold, and on cold wet days, it will be intolerable
It will be harder to travel from games on public transport
On days when the ball is on top, it could be carnage
People like to watch cricket in the sunshine

But most of all, a colossal waste of electricity. Can this be justified?

It'll happen. Sky will want it, and if it gets them more money, they will demand it. And while no one knows what the answers are to cricket's problems, at certain times this will appear one to the gobshites who form opinions.
I always say that everybody's right.

Emphatically No. Nuff said.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

The match crowd of 123,736 was an all-time Adelaide Oval record for a non-Ashes Test, despite the fact that the game lasted only three days.

Durham would be ideal ground.

I'm in the no camp. Arthur has pretty well summed up my reasons.

Can't see Sky wanting it considering it doesn't bring the same benefit for them like it did for Channel 9.

Will rating be higher this is questionable and even then it doesn't actually bring more money to sky since it not dependent on Advertising revenue to bring money.
Does Sky want the cricket after 7pm the answer is again no they don't really want any sport between 7-9 mostly because it clashes with ITV/BBC or any entertainment shows.
Sky is quite happy with 10.30-6.30 cricket times
Sky are probably not fussed now lets move on to the ECB.
Will it make more money no Attendances are good as it is, although it might be useful for the hard sale games.

players no chance will they accept it no player would enjoy playing during the cold nights.

SA, Australia are the only two places where it would work.
UAE possibly but needs to be tested in abrasive surfaces.
India/Sub C is no go with due.

So for all those reasons I guess DN ODIs and T20 under lights are a failure in England?

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool purist and wouldn't like to see this become the norm.

I know over the decades many things have changed that affect test cricket but I feel this is a step too far.

I could just imagine a day/night game in the North of England in May. It's cold enough when the sun is out. By 9pm there could be mass hypothermia.

yeah plus would any of the players or fan actually wanna be there.
As the article said it was clearly for the tv and not sure the tv companies in the UK want it either.
