Very hard question.
Went for india mostly because they should win loads of games this year but then all of them are at home or WI, plus if you looking at the ranking perspective they haven't risen at all.
England is a tough one because they would have to beat India at india to claim the price hard to see it happening.
Australia got a tricky NZ tour and Sri lanka tour + series against SA. They probably can claim the title but not sure they have actually risen unless they beat Sri lanka away from home.
Pakistan got a killer year finally all the smug pakistani fan can go away lol Tour to England/Australia doubt it would end well for them.
NZ schedule light so not sure you can make a case for them unless they beat Aus 2-0.

England have beaten the Aussies & SA in the last few months so I'll go for them.

I might be stupid or reading the thread the wrong way but isn't the whole point of the thread to look at 12 months worth of result AKA what ever happen in 2016.

England beat Aus/Sa in 2015.

Anyway it is actually quite hard to pick a team right now considering their only really 2 heavyweight clashes this year India vs England and SA vs Australia.

beating Aus at home, performing better in the desert, beating SA away.... England strike me as a team on the up.

When you are rated 5 you'd hope up is the only way to go. :hide

SA have had two poor series without their frontline bowlers, so it's hard to judge their year really. You'd expect Steyn and Philander to be back so they should do better in 2016.

England are looking settled, so they should be the big improver, depends a little on how their bowling holds up.

yep they are but in 2016 the main question is can they beat india in india.
Think england time will come in 2017 when the Ashes are played.

Since India are apparently now rated as number one , it is technically impossible for them to record a biggest - or any - rise throughout the next year...

Only way is down :)

Not really they can extend the gap at the top of the ranking table.
If the results go has expected India should be at top of the ranking table by a huge margin in December and even a bigger margin in march, although their biggest test will come when their go abroad again in 2017-18 period.

Wouldn't actually surprise me if india wins all their games this year.
4 test in WI, 1 vs Ban, 3 vs NZ, 5 vs England.

They won't beat England 5-0. Well not imho.

I'll go for NZ. I really don't rate their team apart from Williamson. Southee, Boult and Taylor are good on their day but there isn't much else.
