March Domestic Player of the Month

Postby The Professor » Thu Mar 31, 2016 7:39 pm

This will be a field more hotly contested in the month of April, but in March we has a spattering of domestic games.

The Indian season had the season ender of the Irani Cup whilst English county teams had a few tournaments in Dubai and the MCC University Games started today.

I bequeath the inaugural Domestic Player of the Month award to Jayant Yadav.

The Haryana man was the chief destroyer for the Rest of India team that pulled off the heist-like run chase that wrestled the Irani Cup from Mumbai.

In both innings Yadav got four wickets, the highest total for any of the bowlers.

He also played a bit of a blinder as a night watchman on Day 3 - mustering 46 batting at three.
"It has been said of the unseen army of the dead, on their everlasting march, that when they are passing a rural cricket ground the Englishman falls out of the ranks for a moment to look over the gate and smile."
