Yorkshire turned their nose up at too many decent run chases throughout the season and paid the price at the end of the season.

Or other counties set run chases not really commensurate with with the reduced status of Yorkshire's batting this season, and cost themselves a win in the process.

Oh come on, they've made some very odd decisions this year, think of the Roses match at OT when they ended up at 180 odd for 0 and Dizzy said that the two Ls had decided it was too tough to bat on to mount a chase.

The 1980 West Indians would've chased that. Yorkshire without Bairstow would be crazy to try. If Lancs had set their sights lower, they might have been able to draw Yorks out to sea before drowning them. As it was, they ensured a draw.
