April Domestic Player of the Month

It is not often that you can reward a player who is without a club but Basil Akram's is a special case. The All-Rounder, who was released by Hampshire in the off-season, had a spectacular series of games for Loughborough in the MCCU University games. In what was his fourth and fifth first class innings Akram got 160 vs Surrey and 100* against Kent. As well as this he managed to bag eight wickets. He currently stands at an average of 260 which means if he plays no more first class cricket this season, which seems a distinct possibility, that he will have the second highest average in a year since World War Two.
